The messages are positive and clearly show CN is moving forward safely throughout this period of history. The railway will be there to rebuild and make stronger Canada's economy and help our neighbors to the south as well.

The video's are well worded and thought out, worth taking a few minutes of your quarantine time to listen to.

Happy Easter to all. Your inability to be physically close to your grandchildren this year will make next year that much better. Tell them to make sure the Easter bunny has a mask...

Message from CNPA National President

Good day to all.
As can be expected, there is a multitude of information, good and bad circulating re the Corona Virus Covid-19 epidemic going around the globe. Canada has so far been spared the worst, however as March break travelers return home and send their kids to school, I expect there will be an uptick in the numbers in Canada over the next few weeks.
Sadly, there will no doubt be many scam artists looking to profit from this situation , in ways I can't even imagine, so be very vigilant and avoid web sites which sensationalize or over-simplify solutions. I would stay away from buying a Vaccine on Kijiji for example...
I would suggest we all pass this on to all our contacts in the Association. I have listed a few Government of Canada web site here and there are equivalent provincial sites readily found on the internet with simple google searches such as " Corona virus in Alberta" as an example.

The one thing we can do is that for the coming month, depending on developments with the status in Virus spread in Canada; on a council by council basis decide if a regular monthly meeting should be held or cancelled. In many cases pensioners travel by public transit to get to and from the meetings which increases their risk and that of other participants at the meeting. Close contact with infected individuals will increase the problem. Remember, seniors seem to be affected more severely than younger persons.

Each web site below and many more CREDIBLE GOVERNMENT sites offer lots of advice and information.

In my humble opinion, it would be of little value to try and publish other information and then try to keep it up to date on our own web site, other than I will ask our web support person to add a highlight of where to get accurate information going forward.

Keep washing your hands, Stay home if you are sick with the flu, Get help if you think it is other than the flu. Call ahead to the hospital you are going to before showing up in a room full of already sick people if you think you may have corona virus.

Please pass this on to your local councils and individual pensioners through your group mail lists.

Here are some web sites where you can get up to date and accurate information regarding corona virus in Canada:

Hello all

This is the VANCOUVER Monthly newsletter that we sent to those in the Greater VANCOUVER area.  While we cancelled our meeting for the obvious reasons and the health of our members, the email was also used to spread the proper information on the spread and containment of the virus.

Please use any information you think appropriate
